Can the studio be hired for use?
Our studio is open for hire 10 am - 4 pm 7 days a week unless we specify otherwise. If you have any questions about the availability of the studio, do not hesitate to email via on our company email or the contact form.
Do you teach dance styles other than breaking?
We mainly specialise in breaking. However, we do have other teachers from outside of Open Space that come in and teach other dance styles.
Do you have open sessions?
Yes, we hold weekly open sessions to give people a chance to practise what they have been learning without the teaching environment.
Are you qualified to teach any activities other than dance?
We have a fully qualified Personal Trainer as part of our team and our staff are qualified in a range of different things.
What would be done if my child has an injury?
We will follow the companies protocol and will contact you as soon as possible.

All Open Space Plymouth staff have a new Enhanced DBS which can be presented when requested.
Are Open Space Plymouth Staff Qualified?
Open Space Staff have qualifications in Dance & Fitness ranging from level 3 to degree level and have also gone through a range of different training courses to gain recognised qualifications in the industry we educate in. To find out more about our qualifications, please go to our staff page.
Are you a training facility for fitness?
Yes, and we have a wide range of fitness equipment to help you achieve your fitness goals through bodyweight training and free weights. We also combine fitness into our private classes and public classes to educate fitness properly, as to be able to do high complex movements you have to be able to sustain your body. Are you a training facility for dance?
Yes, all of our staff are fully trained, professional dancers with over 40 years of combined experience.
What is Breaking/Breakdance?
Breaking, also called B-Boying/B-Girling and commercially referred to as 'Breakdance', is an athletic style of street dance. While diverse in the amount of variation available in the dance, breakdancing mainly consists of four kinds of movement: Toprock, Footwork, Power moves and Freezes. Breakdancing is typically performed to songs containing drum breaks, especially in Hip Hop, Funk and Soul Music, although modern trends allow for a much wider variety of music with certain ranges of tempo and beat patterns.
What is Hip Hop Dance?
Hip Hop Dance is a very energetic form of dancing. It is unique in that it allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities. Hip Hop Dance is mainly performed to Hip Hop music.
What is Hip Hop Contemporary Fusion?
Hip Hop contemporary fusion is a combination of the strong dynamics and rhythm used through Hip Hop and the smooth flow transferring through levels of contemporary.
What is Adult Dance Fitness?
Adult dance fitness is a class open to all abilities which use dance as a way to keep fit. We will use different dance genres every week repeating movements and learning a routine.
Is there parking at Open Space Plymouth?
Yes, we have completely free parking for Open Space customers which is safe and secure, however, we are not responsible for any potential damages.
Are there toilets at Open Space Plymouth?
Yes, at Open Space we have fully functioning male and female toilets.
What do I need to wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in that will ensure you can move around freely.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a drink, maybe a towel and any medication that you may personally need.
How can I pay?
You can pay by cash or online via our Timify booking system which can be found by clicking the link below.
How do I book?
You will need to book via our Timify booking system. We only take a maximum of 10 participants per
class, so book early.
How do I book packages?
You will need to email the team stating which package you would like, you can either pay through bank transfer prior to your sessions or pay at the studio in cash.
Do you provide drinks?
Yes, Open Space Plymouth have a drinks fridge filled with cold bottled water to keep you hydrated during your classes. They are 50p each, however, you are also welcome to bring your own drink with you.

What time should I arrive?
We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes prior to any workshop you are taking so that it runs smoothly and you get the most out of your class.

Unfortunately, we don’t offer refunds unless it is an emergency.
What is dance mentoring?
Dance mentoring is where we work with you 1-to-1, to give you the right training, knowledge and tools you will need to get better in your dance.
What is personal training?
Personal Training can be on a 1-to-1 or group basis, where we will be focussing on improving your health and fitness.
Is there disabled access?
Unfortunately, Open Space Plymouth can't provide disabled access.
What happens in the event of a fire?
A member of staff will direct you to the nearest fire exit and take you to the building fire assembly point which is on the opposite side of the car park.
What is the studio capacity?
The studio capacity is a maximum of 10 people.
